Press Release:
San Diego Pre-Race Report in SCCA PRO SPEEDVISION Series
For immediate release
San Diego, CA
Pre-Race Info
November 1, 2000
We are now in San Diego at the formal Naval Training Center for the San Diego Grand Prix.
The course is a street circuit thru the streets of the training center. If you are not familiar with street circuits, they usually have concrete barriers on both sides with only run off shoots for the braking area, straights and ninety degree turns. San Diego is no different.
Our record on real street circuits:
Minneapolis 97 World Challenge T-1: Qualified 3rd, finished 1st place
Trois Rivieres 99 Speedvision GT: Qualified 2nd, finished 1st place
Grand Rapids 99 Speedvision GT: Won pole and finished 1st place
Vancouver 99 Speedvision GT: Won pole, finished 2nd place, later penalized to put us to 7th place
Needless to say, we like street courses. However, this will be the first time we have entered one with the 996 based chassis. As San Diego is run clockwise, we will have a completely different setup from last weeks Las Vegas base. More to follow……
