After having a horrific crash at the end of the back straight-away with car #3 late Thursday testing at Mosport, the crew went around the clock and completed most repairs in time for qualifying.
In qualifying we placed a dismal 27th. Further repairs continued late into Saturday night in an attempt to allow Kitchak to make one of his famous runs from the back to the front.
At the start of the race, Kitchak moved very rapidly towards the front of the field. However, after moving up twelve positions after only eight laps, a suspension failure from an impact with one of the Corvettes forced car #3 into the pits for repairs. A rear drag link was replaced and the team was able to finish the race earning a hard fought 4 points in the championship.
The team is now in the parking lot of the Days Inn in Torrington CT making additional repairs and should be 100% for Lime Rock this Saturday.
Special thanks to competitors: Terry Lackey, Scott Bove, David Schardt, (JD, Mike Peters and Dave Maraj of Champion Audi), and all the rest who loaned us parts and tools (pizza too) to complete repairs on a severely heavily damaged race car.
